Detailed explanation of vehicle ADAS, DSM camera installation locations
1. DSM camera installation
The DSM camera can detect and warn about unsafe driving behaviors. By detecting changes in eyes and face, it can identify all unsafe driving behaviors of the driver while driving, and give corresponding voice prompts.
Unsafe driving behaviors include:
a. Fatigue: yawning, closing eyes
b. Making phone calls
c. Distracted driving: looking around, looking down
d. Smoking
e. Driver abnormality: the driver leaves the driving sight
The installation location of the DMS camera should be selected according to the following principles:
lInstallation location: It is recommended to install it on the center console or dashboard.
lInstallation angle: To ensure that the driver is in the driving direction, the camera is in the driving direction, and the camera is in the driving direction. The angle is recommended to be as small as possible within 30° to the right of the driver;
lInstallation distance: The distance between the camera and the face ranges from 60cm to 120cm, and it is recommended to be installed at a position of about 80cm;
lEnsure that the face is located in the center of the DMS camera (which can be confirmed through the mobile phone APP);
lEnsure that the DMS camera does not block the driver's line of sight and does not interfere with the driver.
lEnsure that the DMS camera and the driver's face are not blocked by other debris such as the steering wheel.
lThe DMS camera must be kept horizontal and cannot be tilted.
Under the premise of meeting the above conditions, the smaller the deviation angle between the DMS camera and the driver's face, the better, and it is best to face the driver directly.

2. ADAS camera installation
ADAS cameras can warn of lane deviation and collision.
(1) Monitor whether the driver turns on the turn signal when changing lanes according to regulations;
(2) Provide a voice warning of lane deviation based on the amount of deviation during driving;
(3) Calculate the collision warning level based on the real-time speed, determine the distance between vehicles and the forward collision warning, and issue a warning.
1) For small vehicles (typically passenger cars, such as online ride-hailing vehicles), the front-view (ADAS) camera should be installed in the upper middle part of the windshield, near the position below the rearview mirror, and within 10 cm to the left and right of the vehicle's center axis.
Note: The lens must not be blocked by the wiper.

2) For medium and large vehicles (typically commercial vehicles, such as buses, muck trucks, etc.), the front-view (ADAS) camera should be installed in the middle of the windshield, close to the bottom, within 10 cm to the left and right of the vehicle's center axis.
Note: The lens must not be blocked by the wiper

After determining the position, tear off the 3M sticker, fix the camera on the front glass, and use the knob to adjust the camera position so that the ADAS screen has half of the sky and half of the sky. After adjusting the position, tighten the limit screws.
