Over the past five years, the consumer electronics market in Southeast Asia has grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 10%, and it is projected to reach a market size of $1.926 billion by 2025. Riding this wave of digital transformation, three types of 4G smart hardware—surveillance cameras, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), and dashcams—are standing out as key drivers of market expansion.

The Asia-Pacific region is the fastest-growing market for dashcams globally, expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.7% between 2023 and 2030. The market is forecasted to grow from 100 million in 2022 to 600 million by 2030.

In Southeast Asia and India, the rising issues of road safety and insurance fraud have significantly accelerated the adoption of dashcams. For example, during the fiscal year ending March 2022, India suffered losses of up to $15.86 billion due to motor vehicle insurance fraud.

In the commercial sector, dashcams are increasingly used in taxis, police vehicles, and car rental fleets to monitor driving behavior and improve operational efficiency.
