How to select a camera

The camera is the core equipment of the entire monitoring system. When selecting a model, it should be carefully selected according to the site environment and user needs. For our company's camera products, we will make a brief explanation of the selection principles for various types of cameras. We hope to help your project:

1) Select according to the installation method. For fixed installations, the cameras generally use ordinary gun cameras or dome cameras; if the pan-tilt mounting method is adopted, multiple integrated cameras are used, such as the SA-I20S01M. The features are: built-in motorized zoom lens, compact and beautiful, easy to install, Excellent value for money, can also be used ordinary gun-type camera with a power zoom lens, but the price is relatively high, the installation is not easy and integrated camera.

2) Select according to the installation location. Due to the ordinary gun type camera, it can be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted, so indoor and outdoor are not limited, and more flexible; while the dome camera can only be installed by ceiling, so it is mostly used indoors and the installation height is limited. However, compared with the gun camera, there is no need to reprovision the lens, protective cover, and bracket, and the installation is convenient, the appearance is hidden, and the price is economical.

3) Choose according to ambient light. If the light conditions are not ideal, you should try to use the camera with lower illumination, such as color ultra-low illumination camera, color black and white automatic conversion dual-purpose camera, low-light black and white camera, etc., in order to achieve better results. It should be noted that if the illumination of the light is not high and the user has a high requirement for the intelligibility of the monitoring image, a black and white camera should be selected. If there is no light, you must add infrared lights to provide lighting or use infrared night vision camera, such as SA-I30B01A or SA-I50B01C  camera, which is characterized by: the camera itself has a color black and white conversion mode, comes with a lens and Installation bracket, unique vacuum packaging design, no need to install protective cover when used indoors, and beautiful appearance, good concealment, excellent cost performance.

4) Select according to the requirements for image clarity. If the resolution of the image quality is relatively high, a camera with a higher TV line indicator should be selected. In general, for color cameras, 420 and 450 TVL (television lines) are medium resolution cameras, and 470 TVL and above are high resolution cameras. The higher the sharpness, the higher the price.

5) Also pay attention to some performance indicators on the product description. Such as SNR, auto iris lens drive and so on. The signal-to-noise ratio in the general TV monitoring system must be greater than 48dB, which not only meets the requirements of the industry standard of not less than 38dB. More importantly, when the ambient illumination is insufficient, the higher the S/N ratio, the more clear the camera image becomes. . The drive mode of the lens is generally selected to be dual-drive, so that an optional auto-iris lens of DC drive or video drive can be selected.

6) In addition, the camera is selected and the installation is more cautious. Strictly follow the product instructions for proper operation, such as operating temperature, power supply voltage, etc. The temperature index of the vast majority of camera manufacturers is -10 ~ +50 °C, if the temperature, humidity changes in the area of use should be added special protection. Because the domestic camera AC voltage adapting range is generally 200 ~ 240V, the anti-power voltage change ability is weak, and it is necessary to add a regulated power supply when used in the system.

How to install a surveillance camera

The first step: Take out the bracket and prepare tools and parts: Plug, screw, screwdriver, hammer, electric drill, and other necessary tools; check the size of the plug and tapping screws according to the pre-determined mounting position. Check whether the screw of the bracket and the screw of the camera base are appropriate, whether the pre-embedded pipeline interface is handled properly, and whether the test cable is unblocked, and then enter the installation procedure after being ready.

The second step: take out the camera, according to the pre-determined camera lens model and specifications, carefully install the lens (infrared integrated camera does not need to install the lens), be careful not to touch the lens and CCD confirmed firmly fixed, turn on the power, Connect the host or field monitor, small TV, etc. to adjust the aperture.

Step 3: Take out the brackets, plugs, screws, screwdrivers, hammers, electric drills and other tools, and install the brackets according to the pre-determined position. After a firm inspection, mount the camera in the agreed direction;

Step 4: If you need to install the guard, after the second step, install the guard directly from here.

1. Open the shield cover and tailgate;

2. Pull out the fixed metal plate and fix the camera;

3, the power adapter into the shield;

Reset the upper cover and the rear baffle, straighten the cable, fix it, and install it on the bracket.

Step 5: Insert the BNC plug of the soldered video cable into the socket of the video cable and confirm that it is firmly fixed.

Step 6: Plug the power adapter's power output plug into the monitoring camera's power jack and confirm the firmness.

Step 7: Connect the other end of the cable to the control panel or monitor (television) to ensure it is secure.

Step 8: Switch on the power of the monitoring host and camera, and adjust the camera angle to the predetermined range through the monitor.

Surveillance camera video fault diagnosis video signal missing

Phenomenon: Loss of intermittent or continuous video signal

Analysis of Causes: Camera Failure, Power Failure, Transmission Line Failure

Random transverse sting noise

Phenomenon Description: Random transverse thin bars or sting noise

Analysis of causes: poor contact, electromagnetic interference, line aging, etc.

Horizontal band noise

Phenomenon Description: Stripe light or dark strips with a certain width in the horizontal direction, translation in a static or vertical direction

Cause Analysis: Camera Failure

Dot snowflake noise classification

Phenomenon Description: Snowflakes-like random noise in the entire frame

Analysis of reason: electromagnetic interference, camera sensor own noise

Abnormal brightness

Phenomenon Description: too bright, too dark, flickering

Analysis of Causes: Improper setting of camera malfunction, gain or exposure time parameters, too strong or too dark ambient light, artificially blocking the camera

Abnormal color

Description of the phenomenon: full-screen color, band color confusion

Analysis of the causes: Poor contact of the Analog Camera video cable

Phenomenon Description: The entire frame stays still for a long time

Analysis of causes: camera failure, transmission failure

Screen shake

Phenomenon Description: The overall movement of the screen

Analysis of causes: camera shake

Scrolling

Phenomenon Description: The screen scrolls vertically

Cause Analysis: Analog Camera Failure

Dramatic changes in the picture

Phenomenon Description: Strong interference across the entire frame

Cause Analysis: Electromagnetic Interference or Camera Failure
