What is the HDCCTV?

HDCCTV(HDCCTV Security Cameras/AHD HDCCTV Cameras/Network HDCCTV Cameras), proposed by several chip and system suppliers in 2009, is a new standard designated for the joint development of the high-definition surveillance system (High Definition Surveillance Systems) applications. Nowadays, more and more manufacturers are using this HDCCTV standard, and this HDCCTV standard, as the standard in the high-definition surveillance industry at present, has reached up to the same poistion as the Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) and the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA); which has formed a three-legged situation.

Simply speaking, HDCCTV defined high-definition video transmission, by using the earliest SDI link developed for the professional broadcast market(also the transmission line from the DVR in the widely used analog security system), and the handshake protocol (such as the video resolution and the frame rate) for the information. And the most important basic core technology in the HDCCTV is the analog high-definition video transmission mode (HD-SDI). The supporters for the HDCCTV camp all expect that the new standard can make the Internet Protocol (IP) systems easier to deploy, at lower price, and can become the alternative plan of the IP systems.

In fact, the most fundamental benefit brought by the HDCCTV is that it can be smoothly upgraded from the current large number of analog video surveillance solutions to high-definition solutions. As for this point, the end user, the system integrator, or the Analog Camera manufacturers, they all accept this upgarde way.

Objectively speaking, both the IP-based standards and the HDCCTV standard have their own strengths. However, the HDCCTV standard's future is still exciting and worth the expectation by judging from the current security industry pattern.
